For over a year, Isatu Hyde was artist in residence here at the Stables Café.
It was a joy having her on board.
Watching new ideas unfold and observing how these translated into physical objects was wonderful.
During her time with us we discovered that a number of our processes had strong connections with hers. We worked closely together during the design stages of her bread cloche which was an amazing process to be part of (and a wonderful excuse to eat lots of bread!).
Throughout her time with us, Isatu ran a number of pottery classes which were greatly received. Regular customers got to know her well, and she became part of the team.
Not only was it fantastic to have ceramics being produced on site, but we are also fortunate enough to have made a wonderful friend.
Isatu has now relocated to the Marches Pottery in Ludlow.
We hope to welcome her back in the future for an exhibition of her work.
