Family & adult art classes

We are thrilled to welcome Sandra Beccarelli, who will be running family and adult art workshops throughout October and November this year.

These classes will cater for all abilities and will be held in our studio space.

Sandra is an abstract artist who creates vibrant and experimental paintings, drawings and mixed media works. In her teaching she shares her passion for exploring materials and techniques, which enables learners to explore their own creativity whilst gaining technical and practical skills along the way.

Her work has been exhibited widely and there were celebrations at the café earlier this year when some of her work was exhibited at the Royal Academy’s Summer Show.

We have provided an overview of the classes below. If you require any more information please email us at info@committee-of-taste.co.uk.

We look forward to seeing you.

Sunday 9th October – WIRE MOBILES

In this session we will look at the wire mobiles created by Alexander Calder, whose work was recently shown at Tate Modern. We will manipulate wire into fish shapes and create the fish’s scales inventively and decoratively using shells and recycled materials. A great idea for using things collected on your holiday!

Sunday 23rd October – HALLOWEEN CRAFTS

In advance of Halloween, we will be creating self- hardening clay skull lamps to decorate your homes and ‘paper picado’, the Mexican art of cutting designs into paper.

Sunday 6th November – RECYCLED JAR LID MOSAICS

This session’s focus will be on the art of recycling. Using a jar lid as its base, we will be combining elements such as broken china and off-cut glass tiles in a decorative and unique way. Some specialist mosaic equipment will be used as well as sharp edged pieces of china. Due to materials used, this class is more appropriate for older children.

Sunday 20th November – EXPERIMENTAL PRINTMAKING

Different ways of creating prints will be explored in this session. By learning basic and simple techniques & using easy to source materials, families can then take their skills and knowledge home to create beautiful cards and gifts for Christmas!
